Founding Pilot Partner Fee: $2,950
Future Standard Price: $4500+
The Essentials Pilot brings together organizational readiness, foundational staff training, and referral pathway review in one practical starting point.
What's included:
What is the Essentials Pilot?
The CancerEVOLVE Intimacy-Informed Care Essentials Pilot gives cancer organizations a practical way to begin strengthening how they address intimacy, sexuality, body image, and relationship concerns.
The engagement combines three areas of work: (1) understanding how your organization currently approaches intimacy-informed care, (2) giving staff practical training they can use in everyday interactions with patients, and (3) examining what happens when a patient needs additional resources or more specialized care.
Your organization does not need to have an existing sexual health program or a fully developed approach to intimacy-informed care. The pilot is designed to help you establish a stronger foundation while identifying what is already working and where further attention and resources may be useful.
The pilot is designed for one program, team, or organizational site and combines assessment, training, and referral pathway review in a manageable first engagement with CancerEVOLVE.
It is deliberately smaller than a comprehensive implementation project and provides a practical way to begin.
What Does The Pilot Include?
1. Organizational Readiness Snapshot + Review
Your organization will complete the CancerEVOLVE Organizational Readiness Snapshot, which looks across six areas of intimacy-informed care:
Culture | Conversations | Capability | Pathways | Resources | Integration
We will review the results together before the staff training, giving us a clearer picture of your current strengths, gaps, and priorities.
Includes: Organizational Readiness Snapshot + 45-minute review consultation
2. Foundational Staff Training
A practical training designed to help staff respond more comfortably and consistently when intimacy concerns arise.
Topics include:
- How cancer and treatment can affect intimacy, sexuality, body image, and relationships
- How to introduce the subject without making assumptions
- Useful language for responding when a concern is raised
- What staff can reasonably address within their own role
- When additional expertise may be needed
- How resources and referrals fit into first-line support
The emphasis is practical. Staff do not need to become sexual health specialists to respond helpfully when these concerns arise.
Includes: 75–90 minute live virtual training for up to 25 staff
3. Referral Pathway Review
Training staff to recognize and respond to intimacy concerns is only useful if they have some idea what can happen next.
Your organization will receive a set of structured tools to examine its current referral pathway, including existing internal services, external providers, patient resources, referral practices, and areas where staff may be unclear about where to send someone for additional help.
The purpose is to identify what already exists and where the pathway may need attention.
Includes: CancerEVOLVE Referral Pathway Review tools and guided organizational exercise
Please note: The pilot does not include comprehensive referral network development, external provider research or vetting, or redesign of organizational referral workflows. These services can be scoped separately if desired.
4. Follow-Up Consultation + Recommendations
Several weeks after the training, we will meet again to discuss what your organization learned.
We will look at staff feedback, questions that surfaced during or after the training, what you discovered through the Referral Pathway Review, and areas that may warrant further attention.
Your organization will receive a brief summary of observations and recommended next steps.
Includes: 45–60 minute follow-up consultation + written recommendations
What Your Organization Will Come Away With
By the end of the pilot, your organization will have:
- A clearer picture of its current readiness for intimacy-informed care
- Staff with practical language and tools for responding to intimacy concerns
- Greater clarity about existing resources and referral options
- A preliminary view of where referral pathways are working and where gaps exist
- Specific recommendations for possible next steps
The purpose is not to overhaul your entire system during a short pilot-scoped engagement. It is to establish a useful foundation and identify where additional attention will have the greatest impact and value.
Who is this pilot for?
The Essentials Pilot may be a good fit for:
Cancer centers and hospital-based cancer programs, survivorship programs, psychosocial oncology teams, community cancer organizations, cancer support nonprofits, support and navigation programs, and other organizations providing direct care or services to people affected by cancer.
You do not need an existing sexual health program.
You do need an organizational contact who can coordinate participation, an appropriate group of staff to attend the training, and genuine interest in examining how intimacy concerns are currently handled.
Why a founding pilot?
The individual components of this work have been developed through CancerEVOLVE. This founding pilot brings several of them together into a single organizational engagement.
We are inviting a small number of organizations to participate so we can work closely with each one and learn how the combined process functions across different cancer care settings.
In exchange for the founding pilot rate, participating organizations will be asked to complete the full process and provide candid feedback about what was useful, what could be improved, and what would make the offering more useful in practice.
